Road Trip Ride JUNE 13th!!!

As we get closer and closer to the ride date of our event, we want to take moment to send a huge thank you to all of our sponsors. You can find a full list of several local companies, to the right, who have helped make the planning on our first ever ROAD TRIP RIDE a success.

Our rider BBQ and awards ceremony is shaping up to look pretty exciting, with $100 and $50 cash prizes for the 1st and 2nd place riders. Plus, custom candles, Harley shirts, food discounts and long lists of more goodies are leading a long line of door prizes for riders.

The test drive of the event, which happened last weekend, was a blast. All we can say is, don't miss out!

The schools of students we benefit

We are busy marketing our event and passing out fliers to as many local businesses as we can. If you see our signs and fliers up, take one (or three) and pass them on to friends! Your support goes a long way in making our scholarship event a success.

Many people ask us, the 'Road Crew', what school we benefit while we are out promoting (and, let's face it, begging for space to put up our information). This raises a GREAT question, and is one I believe is worthy of an entire post.

The Jerry Tabb Memorial Scholarship is unique in our reach of potentially benefited students. Since our scholarship pulls from the entire student base at the Cass Career Center, we have the ability to help students from not one, but TWELVE schools. These include the following.

Harrisonville High School
Belton High School
Ray-Pec High School
Pleasant Hill High School
Lee's Summit High School
Lee's Summit West High School
Lee's Summit North High School
Archie High School
Adrian High School
Drexel High School
Midway High School
Lone Jack High School

With a base so large, we need your support in spreading news about our scholarship events, so don't forget to tell every rider you know!

The "Road Trip Ride" Story

Jerry Tabb, the man whose name the Jerry Tabb Memorial Trust carries on, was killed in an automobile accident in 1996. Jerry, who was very active in his community, had worked as a title insurance agent for 16 years. He was the Vice-President at Coffelt Land Title Company at the time of his death, was actively as a member of the Harrisonville Kiwanis and was a charter member of the Cass County Elks Lodge #2791.

Perhaps his most proud affiliation however, was being active with the youth of our area through his role as a member and counselor for the Cass Career Center (CCC) Advisory Committee f
or Marketing. Jerry believed that success could be achieved through the mix of hard work, perseverance and the right opportunity. In honor of Jerry’s extensive work with, and love for the youth in his community, the Jerry Tabb Memorial Trust Scholarship was formed in 1997. This $4,000 scholarship is now awarded annually to a Cass Career Center graduate, helping to provide that ‘right opportunity’ Jerry believed in.

For 11 years, the ‘Road Crew’ - committee members for the scholarship - have planned and held the annual ‘Jerry Tabb Road Trip’ Orienteering Event, which has traditionally served as the s
ole fundraiser for the Scholarship Trust. This year, in hopes of getting new demographics of our community involved with the scholarship, we are adding the 1st annual ROAD TRIP RIDE, a motorcycle scavenger hunt.
